What should I do if I see a safety warning during my Health Coach journey?
While completing your Health Coach journey, you may see a safety message or warning based on the answers or information you enter. These messages are designed to help guide you towards the most appropriate next steps and encourage you to seek medical support when needed.
During a Health Coach journey in the app, you may sometimes see a safety message or warning after entering information into a questionnaire or form.
These messages are there to help highlight answers, symptoms or health measurements that may need attention. The advice shown will depend on the information you have entered.
What kinds of safety messages might I see?
You may see messages that:
- Ask you to read important information before you start or continue - This may include symptoms to look out for, when to seek help, or when the Health Coach journey may not be suitable. For example:

- Ask you to check an answer or measurement if it seems unusual, unexpected or possibly entered incorrectly. For example:

- Suggest contacting your GP practice or NHS 111 or another appropriate healthcare service for further advice. This may happen if your answers suggest that you may need clinical assessment or support before continuing. For example:

- Advise seeking urgent medical attention if your answers could suggest something serious. This may include advice to call 999 or go to A&E, depending on the symptoms or information entered. For example:

Note: The examples shown may not look exactly the same as the message you see in the app.
What should I do if I see a safety message?
Please read the message carefully and follow the advice shown on screen.
Depending on the message, you may be advised to:
- Carefully read the information first before you continue
- Re-check and correct information you entered
- Contact your GP practice
- Contact NHS 111
- Seek urgent medical help
- Call 999 or go to A&E immediately in an emergency
If you feel seriously unwell, your symptoms are getting worse, or you think you may need urgent care, do not wait for more app messages. Seek medical help straight away.
You should not rely on the app to identify every situation where medical help may be needed.
Why have I received this message?
Safety messages are triggered by certain answers, symptoms, or health measurements entered during your Health Coach journey.
For example:
- A health measurement, such as a blood pressure reading that is very high or very low
- An answer may suggest symptoms that need medical assessment
- a value entered is outside the expected range
- information may have been entered incorrectly
- the Health Coach journey may not be suitable without further healthcare advice
In some cases, the app may simply ask you to check your answers and re-enter the information if needed.
