Why won't my Health Coach journey launch link work?

You may have been invited to a Health Coach journey by your GP. If you find your launch link isn’t working, here might be why.

You might have been invited to a Health Coach journey by your GP in one of the ways below:

After contacting your GP

Via a message – e.g. email or text.

During an appointment

Regardless of how you were invited, your journey is intended to give you simple, personalised support to help you take control of your health 💚

Completing your Health Coach journey

If your GP has asked you to complete a Health Coach form, then you would’ve received this via your ‘messages’ within Evergreen Life, or via an email or text.

  1. If you have access to view messages from your GP within the Evergreen Life app:
    - Go to your GP record in your Evergreen Life app
    - Tap ‘Request help from GP’
    - Tap ‘View messages’

    You may have also received an invite to the form via an email or text. If this is the case, you should access the form from the link within the email or text message.

  2. If your GP has asked you to complete a form, there will be a link to it within your messages
  3. Complete the form, entering your relevant health information as requested
  4. Depending on your answers, you may receive a message and link after the form that encourages you to continue the Health Coach journey in the Evergreen Life app
  5. Tap the link to launch this journey

If your launch link doesn’t work

Evergreen Life uses a link building and tracking platform called Branch to create the links used within the Health Coach journey. If you have a VPN (Virtual Private Network) on your mobile device, and you’re using that device to access the Health Coach journey launch link from your message, the link may not work.

This is because the VPN is blocking the required communication, either by misdirecting traffic, blocking access to the specific DNS or IP addresses the link needs to work, or because the VPN connection itself isn’t set up to pass all traffic through it.

We suggest temporarily pausing or disconnecting from your VPN while you  launch your Health Coach journey.

Alternatively, some VPNs allow you to exclude specific apps or websites from the VPN connection by using a feature called split tunnelling. This enables you to use a VPN for some apps, while others connect directly to the internet, which can be handy for apps that don't work with a VPN or for accessing local content.  

So, it may be worth exploring if your VPN has this feature and excluding the Evergreen Life app.

Check the link works: If the link still doesn't work without the VPN, the issue might not be the VPN at all. Try accessing the link from a different device or on a different network to see if it works there.
