Why you may be asked to re-link to your GP practice

You may have previously linked to your GP practice in Evergreen Life account but are now unlinked. This article explains why this may have happened and how to re-link.

If you’re asked to re-link your GP practice when using the Evergreen Life app or website, it usually means your previous GP connection has expired or become inactive.

This can happen, for example, when we update our systems for security or compatibility. These updates help ensure Evergreen Life continues to provide safe, reliable access to your health information.

Re-linking to your practice is a quick and secure process that ensures your account and health data remain protected and up to date.

What’s changed?

Evergreen Life connects securely to your GP practice so you can view your GP record, order prescriptions, and manage your health information in one place.

We’ve recently upgraded parts of our system to improve reliability and security. During this work, we identified that some older GP connections - created before 2021 - used an older method of linking that is no longer compatible with our current standards.

To make sure all users benefit from the most secure setup, we’ve retired that older method. This means that some people who haven’t logged in since before 2021 may now need to re-link their GP practice.

What this means for you

  • If you’ve logged in since 2021, your GP connection should continue to work normally (because it is already up to date with our current standards).
  • If you haven’t logged in for several years, you may need to re-link to your GP practice before viewing your record.
  • In either case, re-linking is a standard process that helps keep your access secure and current.
  • Your personal data stored in Evergreen Life remains safe and unaffected.
  • Your GP record itself is unaffected, as that is held by the NHS GP practice system.
