How to add, change and remove security questions

I want to know how to choose a good security question. What's the purpose of a security question? How do I add security questions to my account?

Security questions are used by Evergreen Life to add an extra layer of security to an account. This article explains how best to use a security question and why it's important to pick an appropriate question and answer for your account.

Security questions can be used as part of the password reset process.

For users of the Evergreen Life website, security questions are mandatory. For users of the Evergreen Life App, security questions are optional - unless the account is linked to GP online services, in which case they're mandatory.

The importance of choosing a good security question

You'll be asked your chosen security question when you try to reset your password. So, it's best to choose a question that you instinctively know the answer to, ensuring that your answer to this will always be the same.

How to add a security question

Using the App:

If you link your Evergreen Life account to your GP's online services, you'll be prompted to add a security question to the account. 

You can add additional questions at any time:

  1. Tap the menu (the icon or image at the top left-hand side of the screen)
  2. Tap 'Account and Security'
  3. Tap 'Security Centre'
  4. Tap 'Security Questions'
  5. Tap the ‘+’ icon
  6. Select a new question from the drop down list and type an answer into the box provided
  7. Tap 'Save'

How to remove a security question

To remove a security question, follow steps 1-4 above then tap the ‘X’ button next to the security question you want to remove. Each linked account must have at least one security question, so you might have to add a new question before you can remove one.

  2. Click on 'My Account'
  3. Click on 'Change Security Questions'
  4. Select a new question and provide an answer
  5. Click 'Save'

To remove a security question, follow steps 1-3 above then click on the 'Remove' button next to the security question you want to get rid of. Each account must have at least one security question, so you may have to add a new question before you can remove one.
